Tractor Parts to Always Keep on Hand

If you operate your tractor regularly, it’s a good idea to always keep certain equipment and maintenance items on hand. It can be terribly frustrating when you waste time waiting on parts to arrive when you need a replacement or quick repair, and it can be even worse if you spend days trying to find them if your equipment is down. This can really put you behind and push your work back. To help eliminate those issues before they happen, you need to have the tractor parts you need, when you need them.

These are the four most common tractor parts to always have around:

  • Filters
  • Belts
  • Keys
  • Lightbulbs

Filters

The equipment items you should most frequently replace and keep readily available for maintenance are filters. These include your oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, and hydraulic filters. If you need any assistance with the right one for your tractor, here are some helpful tips for identifying your oil filter.

Belts

In addition to your various filters, it’s also a good idea to have an extra fan belt. It can be difficult to find a matching belt locally, so keeping an extra on hand can prevent lengthy repair times. You will need to know the make and model of your tractor in order to find the matching belt. Some models use two belts (a main and a secondary), so it’s important to know which type you have.

Keys

If you have ever misplaced or lost a key, you know just how frustrating it can be. Keeping a spare ignition key for your tractor is a great low-cost way to ensure you don’t end up searching around for your only key for hours while your tractor sits idle and you lose time you could be working.

Light Bulbs

Not only is it difficult to operate your equipment in dim conditions, but it is also more dangerous. Having a spare headlight, taillight, and work light bulbs is a way to easily prevent this from occurring.
